Good as Gay is a memoir about a high school boy coming out of the closet and growing up as a homosexual. It shares journal entries from the perspective of a homosexual living in a small rural town outside of the Twin Cities. The journal entries are then be followed by a humorous look into the reasoning why each specific journal entry was written from the perspective of an adult who has accepted his sexuality and is looking back on the past.

The meat of the writing will be in the quirky analyzing and hilarious taunting of the journal entries. This is where Jacob will really make fun of himself as well as the stigma on homosexuality that still exists today. 

There will be an emphasis on religion, suicidal ideology, and philosophy. The challenge is to make these serious subjects into items that can rationally be discussed on a down to earth basis. The goal is to turn the table on America as a sort of shame on you and giggle message as we continue to wiggle ourselves free of bigotry and religious hate while moving toward core values and beliefs of honesty and validity.
