Rick Santorum, like the rest of the Tea Partier candidates, is trying to out anti-gay the rest of the politicians. It would seem by saying he would reinstate the Don't Ask Don't Tell Policy, which makes it a crime to serve in the military as gay, that he is looking to build a campaign of stupidity, discrimination, and hatred. Under DADT if a gay soldier talks about their attraction to the same sex, talks about their attraction to their same sex partner, or in any way talks about how they are not attracted to the opposite sex, they risk/risked being thrown out of the military and a loss of all military benefits.
These benefits include disability benefits, tuition costs, unemployment benefits, and more. Luckily this policy is gone, but with the threat of a Tea Partier douche-bag as president, (fuck political correctness), Don't Ask Don't Tell could be put back in place. And the dirtiest piece of all is that during the debate and campaign trail, the GOP finds it appropriate to boo a gay soldier who inquires about the policy.
Live report from ABC blogger Bryon Wolf states
Gays in the Military – 10:18 – Santorum gets applause from the crowd in his passionate opposition to lifting don’t ask don’t tell policy, which was lifted Monday. The questioner, by the way, was a soldier in Iraq. Santorum says he’d reinstate the policy. Doesn’t know what he’d do with the soldiers who are now out of the closet
Question from soldier serving in Iraq on the policy toward gays drew a solitary boo. -Republican Presidential Debate

You said it best. "Political Poppycock"
Hello Jacob
I hope the person who booed has volunteered to take the place of the person s/he so despises in the firing line. But I'm sure I hope in vain.
Love & best wishes

It just pissed me off that anyone would treat a soldier that way. It's too bad he didn't just look up and say "Oh, so THIS is who I'm defending from Al Qaeda and the Taliban...hmmm..."
Peace <3

If the Tea Party stays on it's present track, they will one day start a riot as a result of their inappropriate booing, poor behavior, miss-truths and flat out lies.
at some point there will be some sort of demonstration against this idiot and other haters.
i just hope progress doesn't start going backwards.
You all assume that the boo'ing was directed at the soldier and not the policy (which was the focus of the question). People have a right to disagree with policy and voice their objection. It is only the far left who had to reach so far to try turn this whole thing into something is wasn't.
I think I have the right to say: I don't support or agree with sexual perversion, and the so called " right" to shove it into normal society.
